Just another phone scam

In a twist on the usual phone call-back scam, households in this part of the country are receiving cards from ‘PDS Parcel Delivery Services’ claiming they have a digital camera destined for delivery to thier address. The card includes a telephone number to call to arrange redelivery.
The catch is that there is no parcel, and the 090… telephone number is very expensive to call. The six-minute call costs approximately £10.
This BBC article warns against dialling 090 numbers without being sure about what you’re doing.
Although this article was published in January, ICSTIS is still investigating the scam, so there’s no reason to suspect that it has stopped. More information is available on the ICSTIS website by typing in the scam phone number (09066611911)
I was glad to be forwarned about this, as I recently bought a mis-advertised digital camera from Empire Stores, who then ran out of stock of the camera that nobody wants once they know its real specification. It would be typical of Empire to deliver with no notice, so I might well have been suckered.
